Sound Stories in a Time of Crisis and Disintegration.

The story no one wanted told.

"A Very British Sabotage" is the story of the subversion of UK democracy by vandal elements within the Labour Party. They prioritised sabotage over winning an election and governing the UK at a critical point.

The response to AVBS from all involved has been phenomenal — not least because what was known in 2021 pales in comparison to today. Sabotage was only the opening foray for a team whose chief tool became deceit.

Research by Alex Nunns and Paul Holden has ensured this story will not be disregarded. Instead the story has grown exponentially.

Then they apologised for it.

A Very British Sabotage contextualises the events of the last decade — accurately, entertainingly, and in full — for a public who may not have time to piece together the full archaeology of events.

Just like ITV's award-winning Post Office Scandal drama. A successful audio drama will also provide a springboard for a TV drama in the future.

Tucker

Back in 2021, Joseph Tucker, a script writer from Coventry, approached Jeremy Corbyn's speech writer and author of The Candidate, Alex Nunns. When The Fraud was published, Joseph contacted Paul Holden and OR Books to attach the book to the AVBS project — ensuring the denouement of this tale of power and corruption could be told in full.

Now, after four years of writing and research, a script is being written that will go into production in early 2026.

Joseph is the Director and Producer of Marximum Volume Ltd, conducting original interviews with key insiders from the events depicted, and writing the series from forensic archival research and adapted source material including Alex Nunns' The Candidate and Paul Holden's The Fraud.

In November 2025, The Canary approached Joseph with an offer to finance Season 1 of A Very British Sabotage. Season 1 is seven 30-minute episodes covering 2015–2017, due for release in late 2026.

The partnership brings together an independent, listener-supported newsroom with an independent production company — both committed to telling the story mainstream media has either ignored or distorted.

Human-made. Research-first.

AVBS is grounded in original research interviews with key insiders from the period it depicts, forensic archival work, and source material from books including Alex Nunns' The Candidate and Paul Holden's The Fraud.

AI tools are used by the production for research, scheduling and administrative coordination. All creative and editorial work on the drama is human-made.
